Apple Teacher i-Movie:
"iMovie for the iPad" taught me step-by-step instructions on how to use different features to make an iMovie and trailer on my iPad using videos, photos, sound effect, and music. Before reading this iBook, I was not very familiar with this app, however, I have used it a few times on my iPhone. This iBook taught me exactly what I need to do in order to successfully complete an iMovie or a trailer on my iPad. Some of the new things that I learned while reading this iBook are that while creating a trailer on iMovie, you cannot change the theme music and all the template spots must be filled because they cannot be deleted or added. I also did not know that in order to make a trailer, your iPad must be in landscape orientation. iMovie offers a variety of themes to choose from for your trailer. I also learned that you are supposed to use as few words as possible and photos should be taken horizontally. This iBook informed me about the free app called Haiku Deck and ways to incorporate it in my iMovie. I learned how to add photos, titles, text, photos, and videos. This iBook also showed me how to finalize and share my trailer or iMovie. This app can be used in a variety of ways in your very own classroom. Teachers and students can use iMovie to evaluate, analyze, apply, understand, and review certain materials from different lessons. For example, a teacher who is teaching her students about main characters in a book could have her students create an iMovie trailer to apply the idea of main characters. This also shows the teacher that the students understand the ideas behind the main concepts of the lesson he/she is teaching. A teacher can also use this app in many of her lessons to help catch the students’ attention and get them engaged in the lesson. I would highly recommend reading this iBook if you are unfamiliar with how to use this app and/or not familiar with an iPad. I feel well prepared to start creating my first movie trailer and movie on my iPad using the iMovie app. Download this app on your device and start earning your very own Apple Teacher Badges on the Apple Teacher site today!
